今週より、80期生のALTによる授業が始まりました！ NICK先生の自己紹介から始まり、内容は写真描写を英語ので行うというものです。

This week, the 80th-year students began their English lessons with our new ALT, Mr. Nick!
The class started with his self-introduction and moved on to an exciting activity: describing pictures in English.

目的としては、 以下3点です。

・授業や自学習で習っている単語を使えるようにすること。

・写真描写を学ぶことで、日常生活での場面を英語で言えるようにすること。

・英検などの試験にも対応すること。

The goals of this lesson are:

・To actively use vocabulary students have learned in class and through self-study.
・To practice describing everyday moments in English through picture description.
・To prepare for English proficiency tests such as Eiken.

授業はすべて英語で行い、生徒たちも必死になって聞くことでリスニングの練習になり、そして実際の活動では英語を「使う」をことにフォーカスしました。
Of course, the entire lesson was conducted in English. By listening carefully to Mr. Nick, students naturally practiced their listening skills. During the activities, the focus was on using English in real communication.

活動内容はペアワークを行い、片方が写真描写を（ノージェスチャー）、もう片方がその情報をもとに絵を描くという活動です。
In pairs, one student described a picture (without gestures!) while the other student tried to draw it based on the description.

表現する単語は簡単でも日ごろから使っていないとなかなか表現できずに、苦労していましたが、必死になって取り組んでいたのが印象的でした。 英語は伝えるためのツールに過ぎないことも身をもって感じてくれるといいですね！
Even with simple words, students found it surprisingly challenging, but their effort and determination were truly impressive. It was also a great reminder that English is not just a subject to study—it’s a tool to communicate ideas.

次回は復習と、英検の題材を用いてストーリーで話してみることに挑戦します！ 元気で明るい80期が、英語の授業でも生き生きと活動し、楽しめるような授業になるといいですね！

From next time, students will review what they have learned and take on a new challenge: creating short stories using Eiken-style materials. We look forward to seeing the cheerful and energetic 80th-year students shine in English classes, learning with excitement and confidence!
